Building Technology for Work that Matters

We started with a simple belief: public procurement should be transparent, fair, and efficient. Today, we're the Pan-African platform trusted by governments, state-owned enterprises, and businesses across the continent.

The Beginning

We founded Perago Information Systems in Addis Ababa with a mission to help organizations digitize complex operations and improve service delivery.

  • In our early years, we focused on solving practical institutional challenges: manual processes, disconnected records, long approval cycles, limited visibility, and services that were difficult for people to access.
  • That work shaped how we build today. We learned that digital transformation is not just about software. It is about creating systems people can use, institutions can trust, and leaders can rely on.

The First Digital Government Breakthrough

Our first major milestone came when we delivered an electronic procurement solution for a government organization.

  • That project showed us how much impact digital systems could have when applied to procurement. Tendering, approvals, supplier participation, records, and reporting could all become faster, clearer, and easier to control.
  • It also marked the beginning of our deeper focus on procurement as a core area of transformation.

The eGP Moment

The launch of Ethiopia’s national eGovernment Procurement platform became a defining chapter in our story.

  • Through eGP, we helped move public procurement from paper-based processes into a structured digital environment, covering planning, tendering, bid submission, evaluation, contract award, supplier participation, and procurement records.
  • This was more than a platform launch. It was a shift in how procurement could be managed, monitored, audited, and trusted at national scale.

Scaling Across Institutions

After the launch of eGP, our work expanded across federal government institutions, supporting broader adoption, deeper platform use, and wider institutional participation.

  • At this stage, scale became one of our greatest teachers.
  • We learned what it takes to support many agencies, thousands of suppliers, high transaction volumes, complex workflows, and long-term change management.
  • Every rollout strengthened our platform, our delivery model, and our understanding of how to make digital procurement work in real operating environments.

Crossing Borders

Our procurement journey continued beyond Ethiopia.

  • We began supporting the Malawi eGovernment Procurement program, bringing our experience in national procurement transformation to a new market with its own institutions, rules, users, and implementation needs.
  • This chapter pushed us to become more adaptable, more scalable, and more focused on building platforms that can serve different procurement environments without losing simplicity or control.

Expanding the Mission

Our entry into Sierra Leone marked another major step in our growth.

  • By supporting the Sierra Leone eGovernment Procurement program, we continued expanding our role in public procurement modernization and institutional digital transformation.
  • With each country, our belief became stronger: procurement transformation is not only about digitizing transactions. It is about improving transparency, participation, accountability, and confidence in the way organizations spend and deliver.

The Connected Future

Today, we are building the next chapter of Perago through a more connected procurement platform journey.

  • Our focus is to bring sourcing, supplier management, contract lifecycle management, procure-to-pay, payments, spend analytics, reporting, and supplier engagement into one trusted environment.
  • This productization journey reflects everything we have learned from national platforms, enterprise solutions, supplier ecosystems, integrations, and long-term support.
  • We are still guided by the belief that started our journey: technology should solve real problems, create measurable value, and make important systems easier to trust.
